UPDATE: Thanks to the magic of our friend Trackstar & good musical karma, we were able to work things out for DJ Cutmaster Swiff, longtime Outkast DJ & Dungeon Family crew member (think “Wheelz of Steel”), to also come rock at The Solution!!!!!! We’re super excited to welcome the legendary DJ from one of the best rap groups ever (top 3, no question!!!) out to our little hip hop party and hope y’all will send him home raving about how much fun he had, like most of our guests. Definitely a Solution you don’t want to miss, thanks in advance Denver!!!
FRIDAY, 8/22 -> After a wall to wall packed, record setting Friday last weekend at The Meadowlark, we’re excited to up the ante for this week with some extra special guests at The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez. All the way from Atlanta, GA, we’ll be welcoming mixtape master, world touring DJ extraordinaire and Run The Jewels & Killer Mike’s official DJ, Trackstar The DJ, to the turntables for some Mad Decent/Outkast afterparty fun (the show at Fiddler’s will be done by 11 at the latest, then it’s straight to The Solution!)!!!
If that wasn’t enough, we’ll also have Colorado favorite DJ B*Money on the decks, fresh off of a trip to teach DJing/hip hop culture in Croatia with legendary Diamond D and celebrating his birthday!!!
Plus, all month long, we’re displaying some amazing art from renowned Colorado artist Tristan Minton aka Royal Stain aka Pager and official Solution photographer Knower Of The Ledge will be in the building throughout the night, taking extra fresh party pics. SATURDAY, 8/30 from 5-10pm -> Earlier this year, I was lucky enough to throw my first two Red Bull Sound Select Denver shows and help make the official Denver debuts from the legendary Bun B & rap prodigies Vic Mensa and Leather Corduroys a reality. This time around, it’s an honor and a pleasure to bring out LA’s infamous Dirty Science crew, with MPC mastermind Exile anchoring a dope lineup including his group with Johaz, Dag Savage, plus the two newest DS crew members, Choosey & Denmark Vessey! Exile has a fantastic history of putting on ridiculously talented artists like Aloe Blacc, Miguel, Blu & Fashawn, don’t miss a chance to catch the best of the present and future Dirty Science crew as they hit Denver!!!
As if that wasn’t enough, we’re also bringing out longtime Los Angeles favorite Thurz & future soul singer/producer Tiffany Gouché to join Denver’s own Oren L (of the Foodchain) and live production genius Fast For4ward as we debut The Meadowlark’s extra fresh, newly upgraded patio stage. DJ Lazy Eyez will be joining me on DJing and hosting duties and with the show being free with an RSVP at RedBullSoundSelect.com, there’s not a whole lot more we can do to make things any better (although we do have a few more surprises in store for the show, just wait!).
Since it’s a patio show, things get started at 5pm sharp and with a super packed lineup and small venue, we highly recommend RSVPing and getting to the show early. Like I already mentioned, you can RSVP at RedBullSoundSelect.com for FREE entry (that’s right, get in FREE!!! It’s first come, first serve though, so come early) and also get access to some great music, videos and more online. Otherwise, it’s still quite a deal of show at $5 (just make sure you show up early, because being ready to pay a $5 cover does you no good at a sold out show). SUNDAY, 8/17 at 3pm -> Hard to believe this Summer is winding down, Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends has been insanely fun all Summer and with only 3 Sundays left to go, you better believe we’re pulling out all the stops to make the most of what’s left of Summer at The Meadowlark! This Sunday, it’s time for an Extra Live Goodness with special guests Whygyp (Whygee+Gyp Da Hip), CRL CRRLL & Bigwheel Electrosoul joining me onstage and while Goodness typically only focuses on DJs, this time around, we’ll be adding some live music to the fun.
We’re not just talking normal performances though, renowned Denver band, Bigwheel will be rocking a live tribute to G-Funk (!!!) and also backing the debut performance from Whygyp (please tell us you checked out the album, it’s one of the best Colorado hip hop albums to drop in the last few years)! On top of that, CRL CRRLL is going to be performing and recording some footage for his upcoming “Cheers” video, which happens to also be a single from the upcoming Solution Tape #2!!! Me & Gyp will also be on the turntables, making sure the party vibe stays on point between performances and throughout the rest of the day.
As if that wasn’t enough, we’ve still got a few more complimentary Goodness buttons left (and a very limited amount of Jaime Molina/Joseph Martinez Goodness stickers by special request), Moontower Tacos will be out front making their insanely delicious food, Goodness/Solution photographer Knower Of The Ledge will be taking pics of the party (follow us on Instagram: @GDNSS), El Chingon is brewing refreshing agua frescas for us and ZenOne will be back on The Meadowlark’s gorgeous patio (2701 Larimer St), don’t miss it!!! FRIDAY, 8/1 -> Don’t miss an extra special edition of the The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez featuring Los Angeles favorite DJ Expo (Escapism / MOM LA) and an art opening by longtime friend of the party Tristan Minton, who was recently unexpectedly hospitalized with some health complications.
Starting on 8/1, we’ll be displaying some incredible new works from renowned Colorado artist Tristan Minton aka Royal Stain aka Pager at The Meadowlark (for the first few weeks of August) and for the night we’ll be donating half of the door’s proceeds to hopefully help offset some of his recent hospital bills, so come check out some amazing art for a good cause. As usual, party residents DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez will be holding down the turntables and with help from a world traveling DJ like Expo, it should be a one to remember.
As if that wasn’t enough, the night’s also the afterparty for Infinite Monkey Theorem’s 80s themed First Friday (which features DJ Low Key & goes from 5-10pm, just five blocks down the street). Knower Of The Ledge will be in the building throughout the night, taking extra fresh party pics, don’t miss it! 21+ / No cover til 11 / Only $5 after / 2701 Larimer St.
