SUNDAY, 6/30 at 3pm -> The legendary So What! is Denver’s longest running party and inspired me to start throwing my own parties in the first place. When Peter Black retired last year and Denver OGs Big Styles & DJ K-Nee reached out to me to join the jazz/hip hop/soul/funk/house/world/etc party as a resident, I was honored. With that said, I’m super excited to welcome DJ K-Nee & Big Styles over to Goodness for an extra special Goodness x So What! collab that’s sure to be a day to remember.

Our misters are ready to go and a variety fresh agua frescas will be keeping us refreshed, Moontower Tacos & Denver Dessert Trolley will be serving us ridiculously tasty tacos & desserts, the vibe’s gonna be fantastic and at 10PM, we’ll be closing things out the party with a rescheduled Goodness Film Club screening of Things To Do In Denver When You’re Dead. Gonna be another great one on the Meadowlark’s beautiful patio. Don’t front, just funk. 2701 Larimer St / No Cover / 21+.

P.S. Shouts to everyone that came out and rocked through the sporadic storms last Sunday as we saw the most rain ever at Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends while celebrating mine and a some of my favorite June birthdays and had an incredible day regardless. The vibe was so dope that a bunch of people held a tarp over my head (and under a soaked tent that started leaking) when the rain got crazy, just to keep the party going. A ton of my favorite people in Denver coming through for dancing in the rain and Mother Nature couldn’t stop us from having an unforgettable day. Thanks Denver!

SATURDAY, 6/15 -> So What! is proud to welcome Philly legend DJ KING BRITT back to Colorado for a visit to Beauty Bar Denver (608 E. 13th St).  Few DJs have had as storied of a career as King, who burst on the national scene with a hit single on iconic dance label Strictly Rhythm, became the DJ for Digable Planets and was opening for Sade on in the early 90s before establishing his own label, Ovum Records, which has released its fair share of EDM classics.  Since then he’s released a pair of infamous albums with his group Sylk 130, been involved in “The Philadelphia Experiment” remixed project with the likes of featuring ?uestlove & Vikter Duplaix and created The Sister Gertrude project, with songs heavily feature in films and on HBO’s True Blood.  King Britt is still heavily active, working with everyone from De La Soul to to Astrid Suryanto to Madlib over the last decade, as well as new projects like Saturn Never Sleeps & Bedouin Soundclash.

SATURDAY, 2/16 -> Last month, I joined So What! OGs DJ K-Nee, Big Styles & surprise guest DJ Aztec/Peter Black in celebrating the party’s unprecedented 20 year run here in Denver at Beauty Bar and it was INSANE.  Well over 600 people came to pay tribute to the pioneering party in sweat, love and dance and it was an incredible thing.  Multiple generations of Denver music lovers got down to decades of jazz influenced music of all sorts in what would probably best be described as a musical lovefest.

The love continues on, and just in time for Valentine’s Day weekend, So What! is back with a party full of super dynamite soul and two special guests.  Here’s the lineup:

SATURDAY, 1/19 -> First and foremost, I have to thank So What! co-founders DJ K-Nee and Big Styles, Peter Black and everyone who came out for an incredible first party as an official member of the So What! crew.  Last month’s Soulstice Holiday Party was ridiculously fun, the vibe was flawless and the crowd super cool.  This month things should be even better as the party celebrates a once in a lifetime anniversary.
January 19th, 2013 marks 20 years to the day of the first night of So What! the Club (!!!!!). Please join us as we kick off an entire year of special events to celebrate 20 years of being Denver’s favorite dance party.  Join your host as always Ms. Deirdre along with the So What! Crew:
