SATURDAY, 2/3 from 11am – 3pm -> Nationally acclaimed Denver art fixture Dan Ericson aka Dunn The Signtologist has been down with The Solution since basically day one, partnering with us to curate The Art Of Records series, at numerous other art openings over the years, working with us on projects with Akomplice and lots more. Even more importantly, he’s been a huge part of the Denver art/music scene since long before being an artist was “cool”, on top of being a good all around human. With that said, life has thrown our friend Dunn a few curveballs lately and we wanted to help. Here’s the short version of the situation:
“Dan Ericson, resident artist at The Preservery, THE SIGNTOLOGIST, has a new baby son Noah. His wife Gigi had him 8 weeks early and he’s still in the NICU. They are in a financial transition because of these circumstances and would love to have donations towards a diaper fund for Noah. Please help if you can or purchase some art.”
And so we decided to team up with the fine folks at The Preservery for a benefit brunch (our first Solution brunch ever actually!) to help Dunn and his family. We’ll be raffling off a pair of his trademark works on signs, as well as some other great stuff and donating a percentage of the day’s food and drink sales to help him and his family during this challenging time (the better the brunch does, the larger percentage of the days sales goes to Dunn – all the more reason to come out and enjoy!!!). There will also be plenty of his pieces available for sale, on top of the delicious food and drinks from The Preservery’s great menu and DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez spinning all sorts of feel good music to get the day started right.
As if that wasn’t enough, we’re also teaming up with The Preservery’s neighbors and longtime friends of the party, Judith & Joe, to stock even more items at their award-winning boutique! From great used records from our personal collections to Armando Geneyro prints to local products/music/art we dig to Goodness mugs and beyond, we’ll be adding things we like and recommend to the already great selection of clothing, music and assorted other interesting things that Judith & Joe stocks from here on out.
Between good food, good music, good drinks, Dunn’s signature art and all the cool things at Judith & Joe, it should be a special day – come through, help a good cause & enjoy the first time The Solution’s ever done brunch!!!

SUNDAY, 5/4 at 3pm -> Ahhhh yes!!! It’s starting to feel like Summer outside and that means it’s finally Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends time aka my favorite time of the year!!!!!! February’s All Dilla, Winter Goodness & March’s Austin Goodness during SXSW were both awesome days and through the magic of time flying, it’s time to kick things off in grand fashion for the Summer 2014 season on the Meadowlark’s incredible patio (2701 Larimer St).

Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends starts with exceptional music and to kick things off this Summer, I’m super excited to be bringing out the one and only DJ House Shoes, Detroit OG, current Los Angeles favorite and world renowned DJ’s DJ, for his Denver debut!!! Shoes was instrumental in breaking most every Detroit act from Dilla in the 90s to Black Milk a decade later, released the first single on infamous LA party staple the Do-Over’s record label and continues to rack up props for his dedication to pushing quality music at all times. In other words, he’ll be a perfect fit to join me and reigning WMS “best hip hop DJ in Denver” champ DJ Lazy Eyez on the turntables, as we run through everything dope under the sun throughout the party’s seven hours.
You already now we’ll have our renowned agua frescas on deck, official Goodness/Solution photographer Knower Of The Ledge will be in the taking pictures of the party (follow us on Instagram: @GDNSS, if you don’t already) and Moontower Tacos will be handling the food, bringing their incredible tacos back to the block! Also, we’re excited to be welcoming our friends Judith & Joe Fashion & Records mobile boutique back out to join the fun, we have ZenOne will be bringing some impressive top shelf samples of their upcoming line out as well (get excited, but don’t get too excited; they don’t drop til January 1, 2015) and last, but not definitely not least, we excited to welcome two of our favorite Denver artists, Joseph Martinez (fresh off of designing the artwork to Blu’s upcoming album) & Jaime Molina, down to do some some live painting, making things easier on all of our eyes and adding to the festivities!!!

The weather was better than we could have ever hoped for, the crowd was filled with a ton of regulars from the Summer and smiling faces, Moontower Tacos blessed us with great food, Judith & Joe brought the records & gear, and most importantly, me, DJ SpydaTek & DJ Lazy Eyez had an opportunity to play Dilla for 8+ hours; it was about as good as a Sunday gets.
Goodness returns (in grand fashion) on May 4th…Until then, catch The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez every Friday night at the Meadowlark!!!
FRIDAY, 2/28 at 7pm -> We’re excited to be wrapping up a ridiculously fun month of events for #TheSolution7 in grand fashion (no pun intended…LOL) with a the first ever Solution Beat Swap & Fashion Show!!! We’ll be combining music and fashion with styles by Akomplice Clothing, Family Affair, Karma Leigh & Xencs L. Wing, records by ten top Denver diggers and both gear and vinyl from the lovely ladies at Judith & Joe Fashion & Records mobile boutique. We teamed up with the crew at Akomplice for sample sale back in December, which was a hit despite sub-zero temperatures all night, so we decided to bring back the sample sale for round 2; with a great selection of one of a kind items, rarities and more great Akomplice gear on sale at deeply discounted prices (tip: come early at 7pm for the choicest record & gear selections).
Combining music and fashion is just the start though, Moontower Tacos will be back at the Meadowlark too, bringing their uniquely delicious Austin-style tacos to the party. Solution residents DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez will be on the turntables, Knower Of The Ledge will be catching the fun on film and the night’s gonna be so much that we’re gonna start early at 7pm. SUNDAY, 2/16 from 2-10pm -> Every time the weather gets over 50 degrees on a Sunday I get text messages from people saying they miss Goodness and I basically respond the same way every time, “you think you miss it, that’s my baby! LOL”. With that said, on Sunday, 2/16/14, for one day only, we’ll be bringing Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends back for a Winter, all J Dilla edition on the Meadowlark’s incredible, newly enclosed and of course, heated patio (2701 Larimer St). With this Winter Goodness doubling as The Solution’s 8th Annual J Dilla Celebration, I’ll be joined by Lazy Eyez & DJ Spyda T.E.K. as we dig deep in the crates to bring you an 8 hour shift of Jay Dee classics, rarities, samples, b-sides and so on.
Official Solution photographer Knower Of The Ledge will be in the building snapping flicks and we’re excited to be welcoming our friends Judith & Joe Fashion & Records mobile boutique back out to join the fun. As if that wasn’t enough, Moontower Tacos will be back in the building, serving their insanely good food. The icing on the cake though, is that me and the cooks at Moontower are creating a special Dilla Taco that’s gonna be incredible (think about how delicious their chicken & waffle taco is for an example of how the magic of sweet, savory and spicy will play out), as well as some other tasty treats. Things are getting going an hour earlier than Goodness 2013, at 2pm, and we’re rocking til 10 at night. Turn it up!!! No Cover / 21+.
